I graduated from Mondovi High School in 1969 – 50th class reunion is in July, 2019.
I received an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science at District One Technical Institute in 1971.
I’m married to my husband, Will for 48 years. I have two children – Ericka and Scott Vandenhuevel of Mukwonago, Wis. and Brooks and Holli Maines of Minneapolis, Minn. Brooks is currently serving in the Army Reserve after being deployed to Afghanistan twice. I have two dogs – Molly, a 10-year old golden retriever and Gordie a 2-year old yellow lab. I have no grandkids – just 2 grand-dogs and two grand-cats.
My husband Will just retired but fills his time as Plum Lake Town Chairman, writing his weekly for the Vilas County News Review and occasionally guiding summer visitors.
I started working at Howard Young Medical Center in 1977 in the Radiology Department as their secretary. I’ve worked in various office – Medical Staff Credentialing, Human Resources, Data Management and Administration. I have been here almost as long as I’ve been married.
Before coming here I worked at the Wisconsin Correctional Institute in Fox Lake, Wis. doing administrative work for Moraine Park Technical Institute. I also worked at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire and for UW-Stout.
I spend most of my time out of work volunteering for various organizations I belong to – Sayner-Star Lake Lioness Club, Plum Lake Ducks Unlimited, Manitowish Waters’ Summer Solstice, Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church and visiting the shut-ins and homebound.
In my spare time, I like to read, knit socks, hike and bike.
